About

Elisa grows up breathing art from childhood, nourished by the stories of her mother Miriam, herself an artist and a graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, who as a little girl had known the stage by following her own parents through the theatres: Elisa’s maternal grandfather, the celebrated tenor of international fame Tito Del Bianco, and her grandmother Liliana Manzoni, a well-regarded singer and private voice teacher. It is in this family legacy that the roots of her passion take hold: very young, she takes her first steps in popular music, before discovering and cultivating a deeper love for opera.

She is selected for the ensemble of Verdi’s Requiem conducted by Riccardo Muti, for the centenary of the Great War. Soon after comes her debut in the role of Violetta (La Traviata), the moment when that family name sounds again on stage, and Elisa Iovele becomes Elisa Iovele Del Bianco. In the years that follow, her voice travels across four continents, from the Chicago Cultural Center to Sydney, from Addis Ababa to Buenos Aires, while the South American press hails her as “Friuli’s excellence abroad.”

But success on international stages tells only part of her story. Her artistic experience, woven together with her own life path, leads her over the years to develop a personal method of singing founded on expressive freedom, a tool for guiding people to reclaim their own voice, and with it a part of themselves. She deepens her study of the arts therapies, specializes in Cantoterapia at the Scuola Italiana di Cantoterapia in Genoa, and completes the Operatore AmbulARTE® training for bringing artistic workshops into hospitals. She is among the founding members of the Cantoterapia Trieste project, and for a time was co-owner of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s first therapeutic animation company, Singing Therapy, working with singing and therapeutic animation in various care facilities.

Today that voice moves along three paths, performance, teaching, and cantoterapia, which remain, in the end, one story: that of a voice that learned how to express itself, and that now teaches others to do the same.
